Benedetta De Bonis si occupa di riscrittura e traduzione dei classici e di circolazione di miti e testi legati alla Mongolia in area francofona e, più in generale, in un contesto europeo. Si è laureata all’Università di Bologna con una tesi sulla ricezione di Sofocle nel teatro di Michèle Fabien (110/110 con lode e dignità di stampa). Qui ha poi conseguito il dottorato di ricerca (Doctorat d’Études Supérieures Européennes), discutendo la tesi Métamorphoses de l’image des Tartares dans la littérature européenne du XXe siècle, pubblicata da Peter Lang, e insegnato, come docente a contratto, lingua francese e letterature francofone europee. Ha perfezionato i suoi studi nelle università di Londra (University College London) e Vienna (Mongolia Cluster). È stata Visiting Researcher a Bruxelles (Les Archives et Musée de la Littérature), dove ha studiato il Fonds Michèle Fabien e il Fonds Henry Bauchau, a Parigi (Groupe Sociétés Religions Laïcités, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) e a Venezia (Fondazione Cini). Vincitrice di una Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship, ha portato avanti il progetto WISE a Parigi presso il laboratorio Théorie et Histoire des Arts et des Littératures de la Modernité (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle), con cui continua a collaborare come membro associato. Il progetto ha indagato la rappresentazione letteraria e artistica delle donne che contribuirono alla nascita dell’impero di Gengis Khan in Occidente. In continuità con questa ricerca è il progetto Young Researchers MSCA (NextGenerationEU) che attualmente porta avanti come PI e come ricercatrice (RTD-A) in letteratura francese presso l’Università per Stranieri di Siena.

Benedetta De Bonis works on the rewriting and translation of classics, as well as on the circulation of myths and texts related to Mongolia in the French-speaking world, and, more generally, within a European context. She graduated from the University of Bologna with a thesis on the reception of Sophocles in Michèle Fabien's theatre (110/110 cum laude and dignità di stampa). She later earned her PhD (Doctorat d’Études Supérieures Européennes) at the same university, defending a dissertation entitled Métamorphoses de l’image des Tartares dans la littérature européenne du XXe siècle, published by Peter Lang. At the University of Bologna, she also taught French language and European Francophone literatures as an Adjunct Professor. She furthered her studies at University College London and at the Mongolia Cluster of the University of Vienna. She has been a Visiting Researcher in Brussels (Les Archives et Musée de la Littérature), where she studied the Fonds Michèle Fabien and Fonds Henry Bauchau, in Paris (Groupe Sociétés Religions Laïcités, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique), and in Venice (Cini Foundation). Having been awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship, she carried out the WISE project in Paris, at the Théorie et Histoire des Arts et des Littératures de la Modernité research unit (Université Sorbonne Nouvelle), with which she continues to collaborate as an associate member. The project examined the literary and artistic representation of the women who contributed to the rise of Genghis Khan’s empire in the West. In continuity with this research is the Young Researchers MSCA (NextGenerationEU) project she is currently leading as PI and as a Junior Assistant Professor in French literature at the University for Foreigners of Siena.
