Teaching Methods: The course combines lectures with a blended teaching approach and additional strategies, including the use of multimedia and multimodal resources, with the aim of enhancing students’ motivation, attention, and active participation. PowerPoint presentations and video materials will be used to illustrate and synthesize the key topics covered. Student engagement is encouraged through regular interaction during class, including frequent question-and-answer sessions and class discussions.
Learning Objectives: The course provides students with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to understand and manage linguistic and intercultural mediation from a socio-semiotic perspective. Upon completion, students will be able to analyse communicative dynamics in multilingual and multicultural contexts; engage effectively with linguistic and cultural diversity; identify the roles of linguistic and intercultural mediators within European contexts; understand the main Italian and European legal and policy frameworks on migration, reception, and linguistic rights; and apply the knowledge acquired to professional settings in linguistic and intercultural mediation, addressing the challenges of an increasingly multicultural society with greater competence and awareness.
Expected Learning Outcomes and Assessment Methods: Esame scritto obbligatorio / Compulsory written test, Colloquio orale / Oral exam
