Course Title: Course content:	The course is monographic and will focus on the study of Modern Arabic Literature. Students will read and analyze selected passages from important Arabic books. The professor will provide lecture notes of the literary works studied during the course.
Prerequisites:
Course books:	- I. Camera D’Afflitto, Letteratura Araba Contemporanea. Dalla nahdah a oggi, Carocci editore, Roma, 2007. - Dispense distribuite dal docente.
Teaching Methods:	During lectures, materials relating to the literary works being studied will be provided. The lecturer will involve students in reading and analysing excerpts from these works. Attendance is strongly recommended.
Learning Objectives:	Developing adequate linguistic skills in order to approach a wide range of texts of Modern Arabic Literature (level B2 of CEFR). Using lexical and literary resources to read and analyze texts of Modern Arabic Literature. Placing the literary works studied during the course in their historical, political and social context. Building a reach vocabulary related to the prose and the Arabic poetry. Developing a method of study that allows deepening the study and the analysis of Modern Arabic Literature in an independent way.
Expected Learning Outcomes and Assessment Methods:	Colloquio orale / Oral exam, Stesura di tesina obbligatoria su un argomento concordato in anticipo col docente, e va consegnata almeno 15 giorni prima della data del primo appello.
