Course Title:
Course content:
The course aims to illustrate the conditions within which language policies are designed, promoted and managed, especially with reference to the European context. The course is divided into two parts. The first part will articulate the basic theoretical notions that will be used for the construction of knowledge in the field of linguistic policies for plurilingualism. In the second part, the specific situation of the Italian language and culture in the world will be investigated.

Learning Objectives:
a) The course provides the necessary skills to have a frame of the condition of Italian in Italy and around the world and of the language policies promoted at European level. In particular, students will acquire the skills necessary to identify the processes of construction of language policies . b) On the basis of the skills acquired, students will be able to apply analysis tools to various contexts. c) Students will develop the ability to recognize the fundamental elements to define the characteristics and structure of language policies and actions to promote plurilingualism. d) Students will then be able to acquire specific terminology. e) The course will encourage the acquisition of skills related to knowing how to learn, both with autonomous and collaborative learning methods.
